International Forum Yamal Oil and Gas 2016 began its work

The oil and gas sector plays a major role in the national economy. In the Yamal-Nenets autonomous okrug there are 238 fields, and 66 fields are still under development.

The Deputy Governor of the okrug declared it when opening the International Forum Yamal Oil and Gas.

‘There are no minor projects in Yamal. The Conference has approved itself as an excellent platform for discussion of problematic issues. I am sure that a lot of hot topics will be discussed here within two days,’ he said.

The Forum began with a discussion on the system of well operations monitoring and prospective planning of the field development of a gas production company. This system was introduced by Anatoly Arabsky, the Deputy Chief Engineer for the scientific and technical work and ecology of Gazprom Dobycha Yamburg.

Let us recall that the Governor of the Tyumen region Vladimir Yakushev shall take part in the Forum. The head of the region shall make a presentation during the strategic session devoted to development of the oil and gas sector, as well as to general plans of the project operators, investors and the government.

Vladimir Yakushev is sure that investment programs implemented in Yamal, such as Yamal LNG, Sabetta port, Bovanenkovo field, Northern Latitudinal Railway and other are drivers of the Russian economy growth. In the opinion of the Tyumen Region Governor brought out by him at the oil and gas forum a year ago, ‘the multiplicative effect and significance of the development of the peninsula for the whole country is still underestimated, because this is one of the most powerful Russian programs for the long run of 50-60 years. This investment pays off in spades, we are investing in people, investing in our future, this is our common goal.’

This year, on the Yamal forum there will be discussed the impact of the import substitution on the competitiveness of the Russian liquefied natural gas, on the progress of infrastructure for development of hydrocarbon reserves, large-tonnage manufacturers processing raw hydrocarbons of Yamal and process automation, launching communication and control systems for the Arctic projects. Particular attention will be paid to the New Port project, to the launch of the Arctic terminal for year-round oil export, and the development of Messoyakha group of fields.
