Rustam Minnikhanov: over the last 7 years $9bln of foreign investment was attracted

The Republic of Tatarstan attaches great importance to the cooperation with Austria that strengthens and develops Russia-Austria relations. The President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov stated it at the plenary session of the Russia-Austria Business Council. The event took place in Kazan in a technopark of high technologies «IT-park».

When welcoming the participants, Rustam Minnikhanov pointed out that the geopolitical situation and the sanctions have a certain negative influence on Russia’s economy and on Tatarstan’s economy in particular.

«Despite all the difficulties, we receive investment, foreign business continues its work in our Republic», - The President of the RT said. He added as well that the Republic is planning to finish the current year with the GRP growth of 3-3,5%.

Rustam Minnikhanov highlighted that Tatarstan is open for mutually beneficial cooperation and is aimed at the creation of as comfortable as possible conditions for the investors. Therefore, the Republic of Tatarstan has been the leader of the Russian regional rating on the conditions of the investment climate for 3 years.

«Foreign companies have been working in Tatarstan successfully for a long time, they know its strengths and weaknesses, and they see the dynamics. Over the last 7 years, $9bln of foreign investment was attracted», - informed the President of the RT.

The Republic is cooperating actively with the Austrian companies «Wienerberger», «Swarovski», «Red Bull» and others. «We are open for establishing new contacts and we will be glad to find new opportunities for cooperation», - Rustam Minnikhanov added.

Today in the presence of the President of Tatarstan the General cooperation agreement between Kazan National Research Technical University and AVL List GmbH was signed as well.
