AIRR Develops Cooperation with China in the Educational Sector

The Association of Innovative Regions of Russia paid an official visit to the Shenzhen Virtual University Park and held a meeting with the leadership of the Shenzhen Science and Innovation Bureau

The Director of the Center for Strategy of Scientific and Technological Innovations of the Shenzhen Science and Innovation Bureau, Ms. Wang Bolan, spoke about the experience of creating a unique innovative project that unites more than 70 of the most prestigious Chinese and foreign universities, and discussed government support for innovations and science parks in China. The Director of the Association, Alexander Smekalin, presented information on the scientific and technological potential of the regions participating in AIRR. The meeting also included leaders from Shenzhen research institutes, including Shandong University, Xi'an University of Electronic Technology, China Pharmaceutical University, and Hong Kong University of Chinese Literature, who provided the Russian side with information about educational projects being implemented at the Shenzhen Virtual University Park. The parties discussed opportunities for the implementation of joint educational projects in the fields of high technology, R&D, and workforce training.


Cooperation with the Shenzhen Virtual University Park will allow the Association and its member regions to have the opportunity to exchange experiences in integrating the resources of national and foreign universities and creating an innovative demonstration platform for cooperation between industry, education and research," said Alexander Smekalin.


As part of the educational track of the AIRR business mission in Shenzhen, the head of the Skolkovo Innovation Center Representative Office in China, Evgeny Kosolapov, conducted a master class on technological trends and technological transformation in China. In addition, the AIRR delegation visited the laboratories of the Chemical and Biological Faculties of the Joint University of Moscow State University and Shenzhen Polytechnic Institute, as well as learned about the latest developments from the Institute of Artificial Intelligence.

The Shenzhen Virtual University Park was established in 1999 as an innovative strategic initiative of the Shenzhen municipal government aimed at promoting the development of high-tech sectors of the economy. Shenzhen Virtual University Park, jointly funded by the government and relevant universities, is built on the model of one campus for multiple universities.
